I find it rather provocative but I'd add one caveat.

A navel piercing draws attention to your tummy. Unless you are in good shape you probably don't want to draw everyone's attention to your tummy.

It depends on the guy really. Some like them some don't. The best thing I can tell you though is only get one if your willing to show it off because your in good shape.

most guys love them. i think it depends on the girl that has them. if the girl shows off her belly a lot then its skanky. but if she just shows it off sometimes like at the pool or something then its not. but guys think its sexy and i think they really like it

i had mine pierced and alot of ppl loved it but the only time anyone ever saw it was when i was in a bikini. so it depends on how much you show it. but if you get it done dont let it close. b/c i had to take it out for soccer season and it only took about a week to close now i have a whole on top that looks horrible and it wont go away

If you simply want the attention, get it pierced. If you want to impress your boyfriend, it's definitely an individual thing.

I personally think (**warning** do not read below if you're easily offended)

that pierced buttons indicates the girl's a skank. But many men love skanks.
Here's my theory on how this works. Guy sees belly button and reads it as easy (referring to the girl). Guy approaches girl to get friendly. Girl gets attention and is happy.

Therefore, I think the answer to your question (in my opinion) is that it's skanky and guys like it.

I prefer a woman's navel to be WITHOUT ornate metal objects. That's a region I personally enjoy kissing, and I don't want to worry about tangling my tongue up in some piece of hardware...
