Baptisism for a new christian

Asked by emile 8 months ago, 8 answers.

Okay, so I'm a new Christian. I did like a Public Declaration of Christianity sort of thing at my friend's church (now my church?). My question: do I get baptized right away? Or do I wait until the summer (there's like a church campout where you can get...

baptized then)?

Hear - Romans 10:17
Believe - Hebrews 11:6
Repent - Luke 13:3
Confess - Matthew 10:32
Be baptized - Mark 16:16
Live faithful - Revelations 2:10

Do it as soon as possible! You are added to the church when you are baptized, don't be without it!

first of all, I'm happy for you that you became a christian. second, get baptized when you feel you're ready to be baptized. there really is no standard time to do it, everyone (at least in the churches I've been to) does it on their own time. the best advice I can give to you is pray about it, and see if your church offers baptism classes, those really help

In obedience, you want to follow the example set by Jesus to honor Him - I would do it now - I'm very happy for you, Amen !!

being baptized is a representation as Scripture says to being buried in Christ and coming up a new creation (Romans)
It is putting christ on per say and being emmersed in a liquid grave. You need to make sure you understand why you are being baptised and that it is needed for the repentance of your sins...
Scripture says
1. Repent
2. Confess your sins,
3. Acknowledge Him as your Lord and Savior
4. Be baptized
5. pray and continue to walk in His way

You should pick whichever is more meaningful for you. From a mainstream Christian theology perspective, baptism is a public sign of an inner commitment. If you already have that inner commitment, you are already spiritually baptized. That being the case, there's no rush for the ceremony.

if you wont to be baptised you should take a class in your chruch that will help you to know who God is and what he has done for you like in Roames 5:8 means Jesus died for us while we where still sinners that is a good verse to look at if you feel like you need to tell them what your favorite verse I am getting baptized agian cause I was way to young to know what was going on so it is my chouse to follow him now that I am older and I am takeing a class in church called the new belivers class where you learn more about Jesue God is not one person he is three people the father the son and the holy gost I will pray for you as you try to find your way to God

Hi,
I am happy that you accepted Jesus Christ.
Let me explain you from Bible when to take Baptism.

Baptism is a command and not a option (Mark 16:16).

Acts 8 :36 - Philip explained eunuch about scriptures, when they came to some water immidiately eunuch took baptism without delay.

Immidiate obedience is necessary for baptism. Pls go to your pastor and discuss this. Schedule the date and take immidiately. Purpose delay does't bring any blessing.
