Are there any new water treatment technologies?

I mean I have seen a website recently online,on which there are several new ways to treat water. Is there any one know its credits?

You know the guy who made segways? He invented a machine in a project called the slingshot which you put anything with moisture ( even poop pee or wet towels and sweat) in one end and fresh water pops out the other. Cool huh it's been scientifically proven to work.

Unfortunately I don't know any new technologies on the top of my head without doing some online research for you other then suggesting maybe visiting your local water corporations or surf their websites?

Any legit professional engineering consulting firms / investigators would be creditable with their recommendations and theories.

What I do know is, in Australia (nation-wide) we have very strict and law enforcing water restrictions during summers and the government are contemplating using recycled toilet / sewage water as drinking and everyday consumption. !!!
