Anyone good at algebra?

me Asked by xxthatgirl about 1 year ago, 8 answers.

If you have a problem like 6 + y = 8, is that a linear equation?

And what about a question like y = xsquared + 7?
And how would you find the x and why intercepts?

I just need help.
And these are just random equations from my book.
So don't...

worry, I'm not cheating.

your Y=2
so plug that into the other equation to find the X intrecept.

or I think it would be easier to graph the two equations

Have you done functions yet??
y=Xsquared +7 is just a function.
I cant tell you how to graph it though.
the first one isn't a linear equation, I dont think.
I could be wrong about that one, and if I am, please correct me.

I guess the first one might be a linear equation y = 0x + 2

as for the second one, to find the x and why intercepts, equate x and y to 0, so when x = 0, y = 7 and when y=0, x = square root of 7 (+2.645, -2.645)

sorry my bad, there is no x intercepts in the second equation... it's a curve going up from (0,7)...

ok if the promblem is 6+ y =8 the anwser to the equation is (y=2) all you have to do is subract 8-6 if the promblem is addition you subract if the promblem is subraction you add. same thind for multipication and divison you do the oppisite... if you need any help just ask me I'm in alberga 2 already and just a freshman I got upgraded
