St. louis area job help for a felon?

I was convicted of a theft felony in 1992, the only one. I was with the same employer for about 10 years and have relocated to southern illinois ( St. Louis Area) I am having a terrible time finding a job, does anyone have ANY information that might help me in locating a job in the area. My experience includes all fields of food service and housekeeping as well as some paperwork. I can do just about anything including painting, staining, outside land work and am very teachable and willing to learn.

To find companies hiring felons in your area, go to http://www.governmen... and find your local employment office.

They should be able to put you on the right track to finding a job. I've also heard that United Way and the Salvation Army will employ those with felony records.
