How to answer these questions on job applications?

Asked by meka3srw 7 months ago, 3 answers.

I have been on probation for about 5 years now. I have recently lost my job and searching now for employment but I am wanting answers on how to respond to employers about my conviction. I was convicted of theft from an previous employer have never been in jail but did go to court regarding the matter. This was job related so I am concerned on how to answer to that. Please could someone help me. I just need some pointers / answers.

Be honest. Most people will respond accordingly to your responses. I think that every action is situational and that if you are sincere about not approving of your actions (without justicication ie..'Yes I did this... but...') then you are likely to do well in the interview process. I guess it is difficult to give you too much advice w/o knowing the full story as to what where and why, but again be honest. Good Luck

Be honest and open about it - because if you aren't they will find out anyways then you'll look really bad.

You've been to court and all so I'm sure you've talked about how remorseful you are for it and how you'll never do it again etc... you just need to give your potential employers confidence that you're going to stand up to that and be honest.
