Animal crossing for ds and wii help

for animal crossing can a DS go over to a Wii? I just want a DS to visit a wii town or the wii town visit a ds town can that happen?
if so please explain.

You can bring certain items from a DS to a Wii but you cannot visit other towns. All you can do is transfer some items. To do this go to the Town Guard in your Wii version.
