Can you join an amish community if you weren't born into it?

Can a person who is not born into an amish family join an amish community?

o man...umm let me think the last time I went to the amish was like 3 years ago ok umm...im pretty sure you can marry into the amish but you may be shunned from the church for 6 weeks or so...but im not sure...dont quote me on this

Probably, I doubt they would deny anybody who values the same beliefs as them.

you have to be excepted by the church. you are put on a probation like period. then the church may except you
