Amercan express threaten jail

My mom called me and said my younger sister is having financial problems. American Express called her at work and stated that if she didn't pay them the sum owed of $5,000.00 by Wednesday that they come to her job and arrest her. What should she do?

Wow .. that sounds serious, I would talk to them.. usually they would rather try and get payments than get nothing at all.
