heavy bleeding with blood clots is not normal during a pregnancy. There are some women that have their periods throughout their pregnancies but its very much lighter than normal. It could be possibly a misscarriage given the fact that you say it is very painful with blood clots.
If it was an ectopic pregnancy and the bleeding is from it...that would mean that the tube had already ruptured..meaning that you would already be in the hospital bc of the pain that is caused by that. IMO its either your period or your miscarrying. I'd go to the doc
