Ahhh webcams not working!!! =[

Please help me! Ok so my webcam has worked twice before but only after the window had been open for a long time. It is not working now, I have checked the USB settings and I have done what everyone keeps telling me to do. But its still not working, it shows that its there in my computer. However it just shows a black screen. I dont know what to do or how to fix it, no cd came with the webcam. Just the webcam its self, please help!!! <3 The webcam is microsoft of some sort, I really dont know anything about webcams but my computer says its microsoft.

Is the Webcam attached to your computer as built-in or externally? Since you said USB, I’ll assume externally.

In order for programs to run, the drivers must be installed. I can’t point you to the driver without knowing the webcam model.
