A levels - performing

Asked by munchkin12 11 months ago, 4 answers.

this is probably for people living in the Uk because school systems are different.

do you think that performing arts, drama, music and english are bad subjects to pick for alevels. I really want to do it and I know I am good enough because im a...

performer.
But I dont want people to look at me like... what are you doing?
and im not even sure if its possible.
is it a bad choice?

I want to do them because 1) I will enjoy them and 2) I want to do something in the theatre when im older (maybe not even performing but doing these a levels teach your more than performing).

please help its stressing me out, because I always worry about what people think of me sad and I know I shouldnt.

I live in the uk, and music is really hard to do at a level, if your willing to work for it its good.

drama and stuff looks fun.. you get to go to different places to perform

I'd just go for it! you will get better at acting as time goes on. everyone will be thinking the same as you, dont worry =)

If you're geared more towards arts than sciences, then you've picked the right things. A level music is gruelling, ally is right. But very rewarding and will open you up to many career choices. Follow your heart - don't worry about what others think.

Its good that you seem to be able to know your interests well...unlike lots of people at A-level age

But, you might want to take in 1 or 2 science or math subjects, to give you more options. There isnt a 100% guarantee in life that you will be able to get a good performing or literature-related job or university course once you graduate from the A-levels

no it's not bad choice. you have a small range of different subjects so if one don't work out you have another 2 falll back on.
