How about a book of handmade gift certificates? One could be for doing his chores, like making his bed, cleaning his room, feeding the dog if you have one. Another one could be for a trip to the park or playground for him and a friend. How about one for an afternoon of playing his favorite games for him?
You could also make him a box of homemade treats...his favorite cookies or candy.
Little kids really do enjoy those little homemade gifts...it makes them feel important and special.
Take all of the pictures that you have of him and make am book of memories write note and short stroys and what not in it AND then one day when he is older he can look back on it and I think he will lvoe it even more...seven is a great age though because no matter what you do or get him or give him he'll mostly love it.
