7 lbs at 36 weeks??

my little girl Asked by kairinykolesmommy 29 days ago, 3 answers.

I went to my OB this morning he requested an ultrasound to see about how big my daughter is, shes always measured a little on the big side... The ultrasound tech said she was 7 lbs but on the chunky side and could possibly weigh 8 lbs due to the fact...

that ultrasounds are about a pound off. Has anyone ever had a baby that weighed 7lbs at 36 weeks? When I checked my pregnancy book it said that 7 lbs is normal for a baby of 39 weeks...

im scared im not going to be able to have a vaginal delivery ill be stuck with a c-section. If thats the only way, then thats fine, as long as I have a healthy little girl in the end.

My daughter was 7lbs at 37 weeks...I had gestational diabetes which they say makes a baby bigger. At 38 weeks they induced me and she weighed 7lbs 3oz. She didn't gain weight like they thought she would in that one week. If she starts getting too big they might induce you early but honestly I wouldn't worry about it. There are a lot of women that have larger babies and they have vaginal deliveries.

Good luck and best wishes happy

It's a GUESSING GAME! Those things are not EXACT, I promise you! They swore up and down my son wouldn't weigh an ounce over 6 pounds- he was 7lbs and 13 ounces, and a good 2 inches longer than they thought. I delivered vaginally with no problems.

My ex-sister-in-law's baby was 7lbs 2ounces, and they swore she'd be AT LEAST 8.5lbs. We had different doctors at different hospitals- so it's not like we had just one bad tech.

If it makes you feel better, my friend Jenn, had her 10lb 20z daughter vaginally, and it only took an hour of pushing and 6 hours of labor. Her first child. It CAN be done. Your baby is healthy! If you run into problems, they'll help you out by doing a c-section or an epsiotomy ( they're not THAT bad, trust me).

Plus, she'll probably gain (at most) 6 oz this week, 6 the next, putting her at 8lbs, then the last two, it's rare for them to gain anything more than 2oz per week- so you're looking at somewhere around the 8lb 4oz range, which is no different to deliver than a 7.5lb baby unless she's got a whopping huge noggin'. happy It's all about the head size and shoulder size anyways- those are their widest parts- not the squishable tummy.

You'll do FINE. She's going to be just fine too! happy
