1 week old puppy having trouble breathing

My dog had a litter of 5 puppies a week and a half ago. This morning I found 3 had passed away, 1 is breathing very painfully and the 5th puppy is totally fine. Any idea what is going on?

I think you should take him to a vet straight away! He/she might have something wrong with his lungs...maybe it's just an idea.Im not a vet or anything but I hoped I helped

Ugg that is terrible to hear. Get those remaining puppies to a vet immediately. A lot of times when people end up having puppies at home things like this go wrong because you are not an experience breeder or vet that knows the signs of sick puppies early on. It could have been anything from problems developing in the womb to a genetic issue with the puppies to the mother not caring for them properly so there is really nothing we can tell you. You need to go to a vet.

Both of the remaining puppies should go to the Vet!
And please, please spay your dog to prevent this from happening in the future.

sounds like you did a great job as a breeder, get your dog spayed,
could have been many things, Parvo maybe, should have taken them to a vet.

I doubt it's Parvo at this young age...HOWEVER...pups this young suffer from many maladies...and knowledgable breeders, and people who really CARE about breeding dogs (even first timers), do a LOT of research before they take on the task. Hell, for all we know, you don't even know how warm pups have to be kept to stay alive...did you read ANYTHING before you took this on?

The one pup will probably not make it...so get the other one to the Vet...and like everybody else...GET YOUR DOG FIXED...why put her, and yourself thru this crap...most of the pups would probably end up dead anyway...at the dog pound.
