If you believe (certain parts of) the bible, yes. Awfully restrictive for a 'loving' god, isn't it?

Answered by fau on Sep 21, 2009, 03:00AM

Pretty restrictive but 143,300 more than some believe. happy

It is not said in the Bible that only 144000 are going to be saved. That is wrong information.

It depends on which Bible you're reading, and how subjective your interpretation is...

@thehelper: Read Revelation 7. If you believe the Bible, what is that describing?

woofstock Answered by utopia on Sep 21, 2009, 08:11PM

Revelation 7 is describing the beginning of the end. It refers to the jews first, 144,000...then to the multitudes of others...
I quote...
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. 6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand. 7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand. 8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.

that part is just the jews...then it goes on...

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

I observed what questions you ask and I assume you ask questions to hype up religious people as well as others.

@Arachnid, I read revelation 7. I see that it mentions the 144,000. it is talking about the 144,000 that will be saved after the holy spirit leaves the world. it isn't talking about the TOTAL number of the people saved. it is just stating the number of jews that will be saved AFTER Christ comes again.

@fau, I read revelation 14:3. again it speaks about the 144,000 jews that will be saved AFTER Christ comes again.

What does it matter??? If you're not Jewish AND in the Tribulation period the 144,000 doesn't mean 2 flips. What about the rest of the Bible that Leads up to that point? Where it tells us that we must believe in Jesus as the Christ The son of the living God that came to provide a means of salvation from our condition that we caused as a race by rejecting God. It only tells us whats going to happen until the very end of Time (Which is what we are living in and what God is living outside of) so we will have no excuse for not knowing whats coming. Jews you're not off the Hook because the Definition of Jew Changed when the Definition of Family Changed and Believers became the family of God. (Romans 2:27-29) In fact, uncircumcised Gentiles who keep God’s law will condemn you Jews who are circumcised and possess God’s law but don’t obey it. For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision. No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by God’s Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise[a] from God, not from people. God even predicts the Bloodline of Abraham having a mass rejection in Psalms 118:22- The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone. Its all in the Bible plain for all to see. Accept it or Reject it but I have spoken the truth.
