Soo, I have this project I have to do for English. We had to write a 3 page research paper on Creative Writing. I basically just spoke about how students get better grades when it's a creative writing project compared to other types of writing, but I basically made it all up because I honestly couldn't find anythig to research about creative writing. & We couldn't give a "how to" on creative writing or what's involved in it. If that makes sense. Now we actually have to write a 3 page short story, showing what creative writing is. I can do that, but THEN we have to write a 2 page essay as a reflection on what we've learned... I HAVEN'T LEARNED ONE THING. What should I include in this reflection.. any ideas? & I've alread spoke with the teacher and told her I feel like I didn't learn much and she basically was like well just write what you did learn... UM, I learned nothing. lol. She's one of those teachers that makes things so complicated when they don't have to be and she's horrible at clarifying things. So I would greatly appreciate any ideas for my reflection paper about creative writing. :) Thankss. <3 Oh, & Have a great day guys!
Make more stuff up haha, talk about what you talked about earlier (how kids do better on creative writing things), just elaborate on it. "I learned They do better because of this, and this leads to them doing more of that". If u understand what I mean. This is one of those writing assignments that there are no wrong answers because it's what you learned, as long as you can back up your reasoning. So make anything u want up, be creative, and make sure u have a reason to explain what you "learned". Bam, easy 80% from nothing haha. Doing stuff like what I mentioned got me easy high 80s through all high school :)
try to find essays that other people have written about creative writing, or other peoples opinions about it. dont copy word for word though, just use their ideas to spark new ones, paraphrase, or quote and cite them. also ask your classmates who have the same project for a few ideas. if it comes to the worst, ask your teacher for help. tell him/her that youve been having trouble focusing (if thats the case) and that youre not sure how to write an essay about something you havent really thought about. they could give you a few ideas or at least help you get started. hope you get it done!
I always take few examples on my smartphone with me. It might help. But any way you should to express your thoughts. Start from your childhood and stretch an answer in time... Tell how understanding of this theme changes over the years. Then you can tell about common things on this topic like you are making a review. And the last chose the side)
And try to keep your introduction and conclusion paragraphs slightly long. IN^ the intro, introduce all the things you "learned" about, but don't discuss them until the body of the assignment, then in the conclusion bring up all the things you "learned" about again, and finish it off with "and that's what I learned about" or something
When you try to write your short story, maybe you'll learn something from the process - about writing, or about yourself - that you can then reflect on.
