I'm doing a project at school and I did all of the work. One of my friends asked if she could put her name on it and say we did it as partners. I want to say no because this is the second time it's happened, and she told me she'd do it all next time. How do I say no politely?
Tell her that you'll only put your name on the project this time, but if she does a project next time all by herself, she only has to put her name on it... unless of course you guys would get in trouble for having a group project be a one-person project... then I'd say put both names on it and next time as the teacher for a different partner.
I tottaly get what you mean, and I have had friends like that. See the key word, "had". People like that will just use you constantly and that shows no friendship. As said, be straight up and say "Sorry, I worked hard on this one. Not this time."
Just say "No, I worked really hard on this and it's not fair to me if you take credit for it. You're going to have to do your own project, I'm sorry". You don't owe her politeness though, that's just plain rude and irritating.
What I say to my friends is: "That's what you told me last time, you can't keeping doinf this because I'm not going to say yes anymore starting now. Sorry but when you actually do the work I'll say yes."
