Why the difference between bangs and a fringe?

It’s the same thing…we call them bangs in Canada too.

I was in londan last november with my boyfriend and in one of the cafe’s we went to it had bangers and mash on the menu ?? I get what you mean though . its not a widely spread saying … lol… Xo:)

I live in London and have done my whole life. No-one has ever said I’m having bangers and mash for my tea tonight. 100 years ago…maybe. However, I do say cor blimey and bloody hell a lot.

Well they do kinda thats how the hole ‘bangers and mash’ thing came about so obviously someone had to of called them bangers… lol… but I do agree why bangs.. of all the words to chose why bangs ? lmao.. Xo:)

There’s differing lingo from one country to another.

For example, what the English call bangers, we call sausages.

There’s even a lot of words that are different between America and Canada.

im actually confused about this too, so are bangs just a fringe? I once heard they were the bits that hang down the side of your face :/ lol

Bangs and fringes are the same thing. It’s just the difference between languages. Say, what I call ‘tea’ in Australia, Americans/English call ‘dinner’. It’s the same thing, different name.

No-one in England calls sausages ‘bangers’. we call them sausages. Never understood the use of the word bangs. I dont get the connection between a bang and a strip of hair across your forhead. Nutters.
