Why is cheese a well known cause for nightmares ?

I dont personally have nightmares but my mom does how and why . I heard of chocolate . Never cheese though

No food causes nightmares,maybe you might get hyper,but no nightmares.You create them.You can uncreate them.These foods cause you to get more energy but the crash later.Chocolate,coffe,soda.Pretty much anything high of sugar and will cause hyperness will keep you awake for hours then you finally fall asleep,you will feel like you haven’t slept at all.It’s awful!Good Luck!!!

Thats just a myth.. my parents used to say dont eat bananas or cheese before you go to bed because you’l get nightmares lol… But no food can actualy cause nightmares.. Its usually stress or anxiety.. Xo:)

:) It’s very human to believe that some ‘thing’ must be caused by something else. The human brain doesnt quite work that simply. Dreams, nightmares, are bits of information being fired off. Sometimes the brain is trying to work out somethings. Sometimes the brain is picking up noises or sounds from the environment. Sometimes it’s just memories. Sometimes it is stress and anxiety. And while certain foods and drugs can affect your sleep, and thus dreaming and nightmares, they do not directly cause either. Oh and here, more reading on linking dreams and cheese
