Why have I not had a period in over two months!?

im 16 and started my periods when I was around 13, they are usually fairly regular. nothing has changed except that I have recently started sleeping with my boyfriend, we have used comdoms, but since I started having sex I have not had a period. I recently took a pregnancy test just in case but it came up negative like I expected! nothing apart form that has changed in my lifestyle so why have I not had a period for just over two months, im starting to get worried now? should I go and see a doctor about this? I have heard that it could just be my hormones, but considering im usually very regular this is really out of the ordinary. If anyone knows anythign abotu this or can help coudl they please give me some advice? thankyou!

You’re probably knocked up. Pregnancy tests aren’t always accurate. Get a few more and use them over a months time… or just see your gyno.

My diet is good, I had an eating disorder last year but I am very heathy and make a point of eating and exercising really well now. im a heathy size and theres nothing else wrong with my body. Thankyou for all the advice, I needed a second opinion on going to see a doctor, but as long as im not over-reacting like I thought, I think I will go and see one now. thanks agian!

Yes, see your doctor. Although, it is normal for younger women to experience irregular periods in their teens, so it could be nothing. It’s always better to get checked out though and make sure that everything is allright.

Answer #4

I would also suggest seeing your doctor for you want to be safe then sorry. Just have him make sure that everything is alright.

Answer #5

Irregular menstrual periods are among the most common disorders women suffer. Most are related to gland health and lifestyle. Intense body building and training for marathonor competition sports affects menstration (to the point of cessation) because a womans body fat is extremely redused. In young girls such as yourselfmenses may be delayed because of abnormally low estrogen levels due to low blood calcium levels, or to eating disorders and crash dieting. Irregular menses due to prolonged stress should be addressed with relaxation and exercise techniques. So are you eating well? or are you like most other young woman who freak out about their body esp. since they are having to now share it with someone? Id talk to you doctor if your diet is good.
