why does my ex love me on minute and ignore me the next?

My boyfriend thought it was for the best last weekend to break up with me and then tourtre me for the past week. For the past week he has been texting and calling me, telling me that he misses me, loves me, and would love to be with me, but just doesn’t know what to do anymore. He is confused and so am I, after this whole week. He seems to text me and then after we start talking he will quit and then start back up later on at a different time; sort of like he wants me to always be thinking of him. And, I have now noticed that he has been on his myspace for the past week and nothing has changed on his profile, he has left everything alone, including our pictures, his default of us, me being his # 1 friend, and in a relationship status is all still there; but why!? Why is he doing this to me and what is he wanting? Friends of ours is saying he is just playing a game to see how far I’ll go to beg for him back… but what do you guys think?

I say that maybe he still loves you, but he’s confused. I would try to get together with him and talk things through if you are still interested in the relationship.

there is someone else he is interested in. It is creating a conflict. Initially he thought it would be nice to break up with you and pursue this relationship, but then he realized the grass isnt greener, or she is not responding in the way he thought she might.

He is not getting enough attention from her or she is playing hard to get and then he misses you.

Is he the type that doesnt like to be alone for long?

The only way to resolve this would be for the two of you to speak about the truth. It will be almost impossible for him to admit, because it’s easy for him to break up with you if he has someone else to fall back on, but not the case if he has noone or the other relationship is not secure yet.
