WHY DOES A LUNER ECLIPSE OCCUR ONLY DURING A FULL MOON ?

Answer #1

hmm..well if you look at it its the position the sun and the moon have together. they are moving direcly opposite from each other but they are still there

Answer #2

The moon, earth and the sun have to lie on the same line so that a shadow would fall on the moon, allowing a lunar eclipse to occur. Without a full moon, there would be no lunar eclipse.
