Why do people say I love you after one day?

Okay, I’m in eighth grade, and a lot of my friends have boyfriends. Just recently my best friend got a boyfriend. The first day, he told her he loved her. Why is he bullshitting her? I don’t understand how people can say they love their significant other the first day they are officially together. Everyone does this too. It pisses me off when this happens because when they end up breaking up it makes it so much harder. Can anyone explain why people do this?

because they’re using the girls. your juvenile relationships honestly don’t mean a thing, they just ask people out to brag and say that they have boyfriends/girlfriends. you guys are only 13, theres no point in even wanting a boyfriend because we ALL know how it’s going to end up. he said I love you to your friend after 1 day because he’s an idiot. he’s telling her things so that she’ll stick around, she shouldn’t fall for it.

When people are young (and 13 is young) they are just learning about love and romance. It usually takes many relationships to really understand. To your friends (and to you, sooner or later), this is all they have known, and it seems very real. Genuine life-long love usually only happens after they get into their twenties and have had several boyfriend/girlfriend relationships. This is one of the reasons that they (and you) SHOULD put off ‘doing it’ until later, because then the biological drive (of sex) makes things so very complex. (When sex eventually happens I hope that either condoms or birth control are used.) Stay Safe and Good Luck!!
