Why do some people treat me different just because I don't have boyfriend?

I’m 14, and I had had like only 2 boyfriends. But it was nothing serious, it was just simply for company and lust. but now I like being single and I don’t think I’m ready for another one yet. Some kids at school treat me different since I don’t have a boyfriend. I don’t know why but when I walk my with my best friend, they say hi to me and then pretend like I’m not there but they talk to my friends a lot because they have boyfriends at the moment. And I know they dont talk to me because of that reason because one of the guys told me..

Well heres the thing, you don’t need a boyfriend and you certainly don’t want one which is OK. The only problem is – your friends can’t accept your choice of preference. If your friends can’t respect the fact that you don’t want a boyfriend, they’re not worth having around. You can try and talk it out with them but if they persist on ignoring you then drop the friendship. The kids at your school are setting standards for people that they want to talk to. Apparently you don’t fit in those standards which is why they won’t talk to you.

Its not the worst thing in the world but it certainly isn’t good. For now though you still have your best friend. I doubt you need to talk the other kids in school, unless of course there is some sort of peer pressure going on. Thats not good, if thats really what’s happening then stay away from them.
