I'm going to Rhodes tomorrow:) and just wondered, not like I want to drink (¬_¬)
I found several sources that say different things.
Wikipedia says there is no limit to drinking age in Greece but there is to purchase age (16). http://funadvice.com/r/1570k2god73
This site says you can purchase at no age limit in shops but you have to be 18 to buy alcohol in a bar or restaurant: http://funadvice.com/r/1570k2gof5f
An Austrian government website (written in German so I don't post the link) said buying beer and wine as well as drinking beer and wine in a restaurant or bar has NO age limit at all in Greece. For all stronger alcoholic beverages, the age limit is 18 for shop sale as well as for public drinking. So if that was true, you could have a glass of wine with your dinner but you could not have an aperitif afterwards.
If you really want to know, you should just ask people at your hotel reception when you arrive. Or people your travel agency. But as you say you don't plan to drink, it doesn't really matter, does it?
There seems to be some debate as to whether it's 16 or 18 (anyone from Greece who can verify this?) ... however, the age requirement is rarely, if ever, enforced.
Ok thanks, that was mainly for my older brother but still. thanks
