Answer #3

Infrastructure is basically all the civilization-stuff that everyone needs. Infrastructure is both, the things that are usually publicly financed and maintained as well as the density of private businesses that you need to get your provisioning done.

Roads, railroad tracks and ports are traffic infrastructure, as are traffic lights, street lights, bridges and all those things that belong to them. Water, gas, electricity and canalization are infrastructure as well as power plants, sewage plants, water providers and so on. Police, fire fighters, ambulances, hospitals and administration are infrastructure. Public kindergartens, schools universities and libraries infrastructure.

Private businesses are considered infrastructure, too. Like… if you live in a rural place where there is no supermarket, no hairdresser, no restaurant and no doctor and you have to drive 10 miles to get anything, then you live in a place with bad infrastructure.

But private businesses also need infrastructure. Like you can’t have a factory that builds large machines, that needs expert workers and large amounts of electricity in a place with bad public education (because where will the expert workers come from) bad roads (because how are you going to transport your sales) and bad electricity infrastructure (because you can’t afford a power outage every other day).
