i heard the students making a big fuss something about ladies..combats??
The word combat usually refers to fighting, but there are other more specific meanings. Today, for example, the US offered India help in combating violence against women after a young woman was violently assaulted & gang-raped. In this case, combat means to take action in order to prevent something like this from happening again. I'm assuming that this is what those students were talking about... in which case, they have every right to "fuss" over. It's a pretty big deal.
they weren't referring to ladies "combat" style boots (combats) were they? or perhaps another form of clothing?
