What things can I do, or say to help him? or even just comfort him?

My boyfriend has been going through a tough time recently. Prior to this, I have been bugging him about not talking to me enoguh, and recently hes been trying. So he was telling me about things that were happening in his family. His parents are likely to get a divorce and the whole time while he is telling me, I have no idea waht to say or do. I love him. I want to be able to comfort him and help him, which I know I cannot. I have had a pretty good.. life and family, I guess you could almpost say I am spoilt in that way, so I find it hard to fully understand. I do undertand how devastating this is for him for many reasons. I try my best to let him know that I am there for him and that I love him, but I feel that im not doing anything. What things can I say or do to help or comfort him? I hate seeing him like this. and I understand its not something to be fixed fast.

I suggest telling him you’ll always be there for him. Telling him your the shoulder if he needs someone to cry on. Also, don’t nag him into talking to you. If he wants to talk, he’ll talk. You may need to give him some space. Try not to invade every single thing in his life. On the other hand, you may need to start seeing him more o get his mind off things. Take him to fun places like the movies, bowling, or just a romantic walk down the street. Don’t say things like, “it’ll be okay.” Or “everything will turn out just fine” because you don’t know that. Just be there for him. Ask him if he needs help with anything. I hope he’s okay. tigerlover101
