What is your opinion on Armageddon in 2012?

I have been researching all afternoon about this so called Apocalypse in 2012. I know that a lot of the facts may or may not be true, and previous years theories have proved to be fake, obviously or we would all be dead.

Anyways, what is your opinion on this so called apocalypse?

I too have done a lot of research on this; it is a very interesting notion. The Bible talks of Satan being ‘turned’ into a serpent and he led the fallen angels. The Mayans worshipped the serpent Kukulcan and built a temple (the Pyramid of Kukulkan) that is thought to honor him, and is also a 365-day calendar. On one or more of the Equinox’s the sun makes a shadow move down the corner steps of the temple like a serpent heading into the sea. Kukulcan is supposed to have left and gone into the sea, saying he will return. I’ve read that he said a god would return on a certain date and when the Spanish came to their shores on that date they erringly welcomed them with an overwhelming amount of gold, which is thought to have been their demise, through European diseases, slavery and domination. Different sites give a different version. So some of this at least is speculation.

What I find really interesting is that when you read other books of the Bible, besides the New and Old Testaments, you get the idea that part of the angelic revolt (or as a result of it) was because the angels (gods) gave man forbidden knowledge. The Mayans had a very advanced form of hieroglyphics, mathematics; and an advanced understanding of the Universe and celestial movement and interaction. Their calendar, which is made of several smaller ones of different duration all meshed with each other and are very accurate and complex. Blood played a big part in their religious rituals. Their calendar predicted the end of the world, or the era, when it came to an abrupt end on 12, 12, 2012. Using the information from the Mayans modern astrophysicists also have predicted that there is going to be a major alignment of celestial bodies on this date. To me this gives some credibility to it.

I believe what the Bible says on the subject:

The battle of Armageddon is a great, future war that will be fought at Mount Megiddo. This will be the most terrifying and destructive of all wars mankind will experience. The main difference between this and other wars is that the outcome is sure: we know who the winner is! This battle will be fought by men and by spiritual forces. Jesus Christ will return in the midst of this war to prove His power and might. He wins! He will judge the nations of the world and establish His kingdom.

See Revelation, chapter 16, where the preparation for the battle is described in verses 12-16. Read also, chapters 17-20. This “battle” is the final world war and it is more than just a physical war. All of the forces of good and evil will be fighting for power. Jesus wins, and then establishes His reign on earth for one thousand years.

people are funny haha, where did it say the planet was going to end during Y2K??? I never heard anything about the “end of the world” you guys are weird I heard about the end of all technologies because they used a 2 digit date and all it would redo was reset all electronics to 00 again whoopie!! haha… honestly though 2012 seems more like the real deal but not he end of human existence just the passing from one stage of man into the next… Think about it we never knew how to use our brains until we entered a new stage of man, this is supposed to be the next step into the spiritual side of life were we learn to use it like our brains 4000 years ago… Stop reading every other word people its not the end but the beginning… embrace it and be ready for what ever comes, because there is supposed to be a lot of casualties of the humans incappable of this (unevolved) aswell…

People from all walks of life have been making false predictions about the end of the world in every year of every generation. Hal Lindsay wrote a book called 1980s: Countdown to Armageddon and had a lot of people convinced. Many thought Y2K would be the Apocalpyse. None of it has happened yet. As for Nostradamus, his predictions are not only vague but are interpreted differently depending on who is reading the cryptic symbols and drawings in his books.

No, I do not think the world is going to end in 2012. People say the number of wars and natural disasters are increasing, but that’s a false statement. We’re actually just keeping better records of them and reporting on them far more quickly. Past periods of human history, like the Fourteenth Century, saw far more conflict, disease, and disaster on the planet. And oh by the way, a lot of intelligent people thought Armageddon was coming back then, too.

but be watchful and be ready for when Christ returns - Amen !!

Answer #6

If Jesus wins then why fight the war? Unless it’s to establish who is good and who is evil by the side they take.

Both the Ancient Mayas’ calendar and Nastradaumus independant of each other predicted that the “end” will come in that latter part of the year 2012.

There is a 13th astrological sign…Ophiuchus (the snake handler). His symbol is the sign of healing found on the medical crest. The sun hasn’t risen in his sign for 13,000 years. The sun will rise in that sign which is also the center of two crosses. The astrological and the terrestrial in gues when… The latter part of 2012

What large mammals roamed the Earth approximately 13,000 years ago? They were gone in the relative blink of an eye and there is still debate why. I can pretty much say Jesus didn’t come down, sort them out between good and evil, take the good ones away and banish the bad ones to Hell.

There will be a “healing” of the Earth in the months between the second week of November and the Second week in December of the year 2012. Whether that be a great war, a great Earthquake, a meteorite or “pole reversal”, where North and South become East and West.

Ouch! That’s gotta hurt!

The Mayans seem to have got the ‘start date’ for the world wrong, so why do we think they got the ‘finish date’ right? Jesus said no-one knows the day or the hour, so I don’t think we have any chance of knowing, or any need to know. It’s an awful cliche to say ‘live each day as if it were your last’, but it reminds us that it’s what we do in the the here-and-now that matters.

Answer #8

who are we (human) ? to know the exalt dates of the things God did not reveal to us. In my own opinion, we may experience Armageddon, but in an unknown year. So, the Armageddon in 2012 won’t be a reality.

Answer #9

I think its a lie because God said that no one, not angels or his son Jesus, or even Satan and his demons woul know the time, date, hour, minute, or second of when the world would end.

Michael Rood is a biblical historian that has been studying the bible and its history his entire life along with trying to redo the original Hebrew calendar, and he has finally found the missing pieces, you can see his work at his website, and this is his word, after a lifetime of work in this area:

If Michael’s calculations are correct, the nation of Israel is already in the third prophetic layer of Daniel’s prophecy; the four year countdown to the thermonuclear ruin of Damascus has already begun.

God chooses when. He could choose today, he could choose 500 years from now.
