What is saturn made of?

Answer #1

Saturn is made up almost entirely of hydrogen, with some helium, methane, and ammonia present in much smaller amounts. At it center, there is most likely a small core of rock and iron. An interesting note about the makeup of Saturn – even though it is roughly the same size as Jupiter (though smaller, of course), it is much less dense. In fact, it is denser than water, which means if you could find a pool big enough to hold it, Saturn would float.

Answer #2

Saturn is made up of mostly hydrogen (96%) and very little of helium (3%) while the remaining 1% is made up of trace elements that include ammonia, methane and ethane etc.
