What happens after we die??

Just a sec ago I had a really scary thought…well loads of thoughts raced around in my head…what happens when we die…and I imagined nothingness, just not blackness not whiteness, nothing just no movment.

What happens when we die? are there any signs to lead us to the proof of what happens? aaand what was that because I can’t imagine it again no matter how hard I try

Was I not right in saying that we cannot hold a discussion with the Atheists without being ridiculed?

Yes you are right there- you personally can’t have a discussion with atheists without being ridiculed. Plenty of other religious people can though. Start backing up what you say with clear cut evidence, and you might have a tad more credibility. If you can’t do that, expect your flimsy statements to be challenged.

They cannot speak straight.

This coming from someone who believes a book full of contradictions and false logistics to be truth, as opposed to people who can point to scientific studies and facts? Right… that makes so much sense… (thank you sarcasm!)

According to them anything that we say is senseless.

Take a good, long read of that big book you follow. If you followed everything that book told you to do, it’s almost certain you’d have criminal convictions. Still think it makes sense?

Well with such an attitude you will never come into contact with reality.

You do realise that the reality of most religion was that, many years ago, people were converted at sword point. Does that seem like a loving way to ‘spread the word’? Furthermore, reality is fact. Not a fairy story.

If however anyone holds a good discussion many details can be shown to such a person for his consideration.

Translated: “If you roll over and lose critical thinking, we have a chance at converting you with our biased, outdated, unspecific and disproven literature, because we’re right, and you’re a dirty heathen for not believing.”

What tseirpeht has said is right and there are lots of authentic documents that gives the details. But only a sincere person will see the truth.

I’d really love to see these ‘authentic documents’ everyone keeps talking about and never presenting…

I will not get into a debate about evolution because there are people here who will go to any extent to support evolution even to the point of not accepting established scientific facts

Evolution is science- it can be demonstrated in fruit flies etc, it’s covered in the year 11 curriculum of Biology. Religion is not science. It’s a belief based on zero evidence.

GOD!!! SPELL IT OUT GOD DAMN IT!!!

I suggest that those who do not believe in God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ light a match and hold their finger in the flame for as long as it is bearable. The pain you receive is very insignificant compared to the everlasting flames and torment the non-Christian will endure for rejecting God.

So… you’re suggesting that all non-christians should… burn… their fingers? How about you try to be more ‘’Christ-like’’ and be LESS of an intolerant prick?

I’ll take hell over a vengeful SOB who is so vain he would cast perfectly good upstanding people into the fire simpy for not believing in something as unknowable as a diety.

Yeah, its kind of hard to imagine NOT existing, when ALL YOU KNOW involves your existence. That’s why people fear death… similarly to fearing the unknown. Which is why religion is so popular. Many people just NEED an explanation, right or wrong… just for peace of mind.

what happens when we die? are there any signs to lead us to the proof of what happens?

Nobody knows, because nobody’s been DEAD before (clinically dead is NOT the same as physically dead) and there’s no proof of anything that happens AFTER we die…

“There are readers of these newsgroups who reject evolution for religious reasons. In general these readers oppose both the fact of evolution and theories of mechanisms, although some anti-evolutionists have come to realize that there is a difference between the two concepts. That is why we see some leading anti-evolutionists admitting to the fact of “microevolution”–they know that evolution can be demonstrated. These readers will not be convinced of the “facthood” of (macro)evolution by any logical argument and it is a waste of time to make the attempt. The best that we can hope for is that they understand the argument that they oppose. Even this simple hope is rarely fulfilled. There are some readers who are not anti-evolutionist but still claim that evolution is “only” a theory which can’t be proven. This group needs to distinguish between the fact that evolution occurs and the theory of the mechanism of evolution. We also need to distinguish between facts that are easy to demonstrate and those that are more circumstantial. Examples of evolution that are readily apparent include the fact that modern populations are evolving and the fact that two closely related species share a common ancestor. The evidence that Homo sapiens and chimpanzees share a recent common ancestor falls into this category. There is so much evidence in support of this aspect of primate evolution that it qualifies as a fact by any common definition of the word “fact. Scientific creationism is 100% crap. So-called “scientific” creationists do not base their objections on scientific reasoning or data. Their ideas are based on religious dogma, and their approach is simply to attack evolution. The types of arguments they use fall into several categories: distortions of scientific principles ( the second law of thermodynamics argument), straw man versions of evolution (the “too improbable to evolve by chance” argument), dishonest selective use of data (the declining speed of light argument) appeals to emotion or wishful thinking (“I don’t want to be related to an ape” ), appeals to personal incredulity (“I don’t see how this could have evolved” ), dishonestly quoting scientists out of context (Darwin’s comments on the evolution of the eye) and simply fabricating data to suit their arguments (Gish’s “bullfrog proteins” ).

Most importantly, scientific creationists do not have a testable, scientific theory to replace evolution with. Even if evolution turned out to be wrong, it would simply be replaced by another scientific theory. Creationists do not conduct scientific experiments, nor do they seek publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Much of their output is “preaching to the choir.”

Science is based on an open and honest look at the data. Much of creationism is built on dishonest debating techniques and special pleading for a case the data does not support. Science belongs in science classes. Evolution is science. Creationism is not. It’s that simple.” - “The TalkOrigins Archive”).

Hey Tseirpeht are you sleeping in front of your Television or do you simply not take in what you are seeing, don’t you watch National Geography, excavations of incredible animal, human and dinosaur fossils which are millions of years old. Or do you think they plant concrete skeletons only to make the bible seem unbelievable?

There are excavations and there are fossils but not a a shared of evidence for macro evolution. It is only a claim that that these fossils point to evolution when it does not.

Really. Which one is next, then? Or can you only find things that sort of seem to fit after the fact?

Answer #8

No one truly knows. The Bible says we will go to heaven. However, I prefer to believe in reincarnation. There is one truth, we will all find out eventually. Do not fear death because it is just another beginning.

Answer #9

There are too many contradictions (there are none), or that evolution has been proven (you only show similarities between animals).

“G-d has predicted the rise and fall of every empire in perfect detail.”

Really. Which one is next, then? Or can you only find things that sort of seem to fit after the fact?

“Said that the universe is constantly expanding”

Where?

“and that the stars in the sky would be impossible to count.”

Anyone with good eyes and a dark night can demonstrate that.

“There are too many contradictions (there are none)”

No contradictions whatsoever? None at all? Are you sure about that?

Answer #11

When we die the life goes out, the body decomposes and the Spirit will continue to exist by itself. But depending weather your sins have been washed or not you will either land in heaven or hell.

Answer #12

Those whose names are found in the book of life will live in heaven for a short time. Their bodies would be made glorified, like a perfect self. No sickness or sadness and all of the bad things that you have done in life will no longer come to mind. You will reunite with your family, make new friends even talk with famous figures in our history. Eventually they will be sent back to earth which G-d “rebuilt/designed” which would be more like a giant garden. There we will start life all over again the way G-d had wanted. You could jump off a cliff and not die, you could have both a pet lion and sheep living with you. All creatures would obey your command because your command is in part G-d’s command. You will not be all knowing, there will still be a quest for knowledge but there wont be as many restrictions. Imagine living in an environment where everything is designed to your needs, your body will more then likely have no limits. We would build our own homes and live life as we would want. Visit family, friends, meet new people go skiing, surfing what ever floats your boat. There are thousands of things that have verified this through the bible. G-d has predicted the rise and fall of every empire in perfect detail. Also predicted Israel becoming a nation. It describes the earth, and said that it was round. Said that the universe is constantly expanding, and that the stars in the sky would be impossible to count. All these things are confirmed by science. It also describes the rain cycles. Now to all of those who don’t believe in this I know what you are going to say. There are too many contradictions (there are none), or that evolution has been proven (you only show similarities between animals).

Answer #13

When you die, you cease to exist, just like the time before you were born. It won’t be scary, because you won’t be there to experience it.

Answer #14

It is hard to imagine your life without consciousness, just imagine a blank dark void in your head, where you feel no pain, you don’t care about anything anymore, and no BILLS!!! It’s not like you’ll be trapped because you can’t trap what’s not even there. you’ll be as see through as wind, and as oblivious to the outside or inside world as Paris Hilton XD

Answer #15

According to the Bible, a Christian having accepted Christ as their Lord and savior can look forward to immediately being in His presence - ‘to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord’ - that’s one of the great promises I’m looking forward to !

Answer #16

I will arise with the Vampires. That is my destiny.

Answer #17

Well, I don’t know what you’re smoking, but I believe in reincarnation, so hopefully after I die I will come back as something lovely and free, like a bird, and not something dreadful and unmoving, like a ficus.

However, I do think spending eternity in limbo would be the most dreadful thing ever. It just sounds excrutiatingly boring to me. At least give me some board games to screw around with while I’m sitting around doing nothing for the rest of eternity.
