What do people think of muslims?

What are your views on muslims?

Answer #1

Just a few personal thoughts…

I judge people as individual humans and not because of their race, sex, colour, religion or sexuality

One cannot generalise because someone is in one of the above, if you do, it makes you biggoted and narrow minded.

I have some wonderful friends from all of the above groups (some in more than one of these groups) who were always there for me during a long illness I had a few years back.

So,to answer your question, in my experience, the Muslims I know are not extremists and are kind and caring friends.

What gives ANYONE the right to judge someone because they belong to one or more of these groups?

People that do are often responsibile for inciting hatred or adding to hatred already stirred up by the media.

I was the manager of a restaurant in 2001. After the 9/11 attacks, a muslim family came in and asked if they were welcome. These were regular customers, people I knew. We had a large Jewish and Muslim customer base. We even had a separate cutting board and knife to cut pizzas for people who didn’t eat pork. I was so upset when they asked that because it made me feel that they felt like everyone in America hated them, even tho they were Americans. Stupid. Our constitution guarantees freedom of religion (or freedom from religion) to everyone. People should be able to believe what they want as long as they aren’t blowing up abortion clinics or markets.

Answer #3

the religion itself is ok, but those f*ckin radicals take it to far. that religion has some fearless warriors

Answer #4

Islam is no different from any other religion. They all have their share of crazies, and almost all of them have at some time been twisted in order to justify some attrocities in the name of their god. Radicals exist in all religions. You have chirstian terrorists in this country who bomb abortion clinics. You have radical islamists who do the same type s of things. It all depends on your perspective. There is nothing more wrong about islam than there is wrong with all organized religion.

Answer #5

There are radicals in practically all the groups I mentioned in my earlier post.

What about the Christian radicals? I believe the Ku Klux Klan claim to be a christian group. Do their views represent the views of all christians?

Likewise, do the views of Muslim radicals represent the views of all Muslims?

Just something to consider…

Oh, I forgot to add, as mentioned by the previous poster, its all about perspective and what side you belong to.

In the eyes of one man, a person may be a terrorist. In the eyes of another, that same man may be a freedom fighter!

Answer #6

Well I have 3 people in my family that turned muslim.Im not muslim though but I have nothin against muslims.I feel as if you are who you are if you have different beliefs that dont mean you should get treated different.as long as you stand behind your beliefs thats all that matters!

Answer #7

Well…are you muslim ? I am, and if I think it’s really great. And Allah S.W.T is real. Because we, muslims, in al-qur’an, the stories are true. It’s really great ^^

And yeah, I’m going to ask the same thing too.
