What can I teach my cockatiel ?

How do I teach my bird to do tricks how do I teach him to do them.how do I also teach him to fly to me do I put some food in my hand or do I do something else

I had a cockatiel once, you can teach it lots of things, you can teach it to talk, or you could teach it to spin around on a hoop/stick.Well, whatever you choose to do, reamember that it takes time to teach birds things, but it is totally worth it in the end,so have fun with it!!! GOOD LUCK

Training a bird to do tricks takes a bit of patience and plenty of positive reinforcement. The key is to start very small and build up to the behavior you want to replicate. So for a bird to fly to you, you would start with the bird simply walking towards you from the other side of their perch perhaps, and reward it paired with a command, ‘’come here,’’ or ‘’fly’’ or such. Once he’s connected moving towards you with getting a reward, move farther away and repeat the command, rewarding each time.

Soon, you’ll be far enough away that he will have to fly to you when you issue the command, and you can start gradually tapering off the rewards so that he does not need to get a treat each time, but in his head, he’ll still connect obeying the command as being a positive experience.

Here’s a little video about a guy training his cockatiel using a clicker. You might find it helpful, though his voice his a bit annoying.
