What can I do if I find my self a victim of a pregnancy trap?

I have been pursued by an ex-girl friend that took advantage of a weak moment of her seduction and took that opportunity to get her self pregnant. Now I face a life time decision of this scam and need both ethical and legal advice if there is any.

If she is carrying your baby there is nothing you can do about it. It doesn’t matter if she did it on purpose or not, the deed is done. You need to ask yourself if you want to be a father to it. If the answer is yes, then you will have to support her emotionally during the pregnancy and come to some legal agreement concerning custody and child support. Just because she gives birth doesn’t mean she gets to make all of the decisions, or have full custody.

You need to see a family lawyer immediately. Protect and know your rights from the beginning and this will go more smoothly.

Be honest with her about your intentions towards her. If you do not want to spend your life with her let her know that you can only offer her your friendship and co-parenting. She will have to accept it, afterall she did this to herself.
