Dear She, I felt like I was the ugliest teen on earth. I went to school in Daytona Beach, Fl, and if you weren’t blonde, thin and tan, you weren’t “cool”. I was none of the above. Ok, so I wasn’t on the list of the “popular people”. I had friends who loved me for me, and I began to realize that a lot of the “cool” people were like boxes of garbage wrapped up like a gift. Pretty on the outside, but the inside stunk. My friends were pretty on the inside, and not so bad on the outside - and being kind - man, that is so much more attractive than being thin, or rich or going to parties that everyone else gets invited to. Two things taught me the biggest lessons. One: the prettiest girl I knew was in band. She was a majorette (which is as big a deal as being a cheerleader), and perfect. Perfect hair, perfect figure, perfect smile, dated the quarterback, who was hot. Anyway, “Patricia” (not her real name), and I got talking in the band room one day, just she and I. She and “football hero” had broken up and she beleived she didn’t have anything to offer anyone! No one called her on the weekend for dates, because they were all afraid she’s say no. No one invited her to “the parties” because football idiot was going to be there and no one wanted an embarrassing scene. Here was my idol, the girl I wanted to be just like, with a broken heart, no dates, and no one to talk to because it “wasnt’ cool”. I discovered “Patricia” was as beautiful inside as she was out - and that being cool and thin and “perfect” is all illusion. The second thing is remember this: you are the only one of you God created. That makes you precious and priceless. No one can be there for your friends the way you can. No one can be you - and you deserve to be happy, and secure in knowing you aren’t ugly or fat or any of the other things you call yourself. You are you - and that is just exactly what and who you should be. Rock on, girl!!!

Confidence is gained through experience. There are no shortcuts. So, force yourself into uncomfortable situations and accept the risks of failure.

The truth is… If you look for the Light, you’ll find it. If you continue to tell yourself that there is not light (or if other people tell you and you believe them) you won’t be able to find it. It is there, and it promised to never leave. The Light will guide you to true happiness and most importantly Peace.

well first of all you shouldnt give a damn about what they say and just be happy who you are oh and if you feel fat then maybe hit the local gym or go for a jog but the main point is that you should be happy with who you are.

I had the same problem and when I found the solution I felt like a moron. I transferred schools and I had started homeschool, so I didn’t have to get up earll or go to bed at a normal time. I wasn’t eating very healthy I was just being your average lazy teen. so I started going back to normal school again, I became a vegetarian (which fell through but @ least I made an effort!! lol) and I started running everynight. all I had to do was eat a little better, get more sleep and work out. people told me that’s what you need to be happy but I never noticed so I didn’t believe it made a diffrence. try it! and then go buy a cute outfit and you’ll feel gorgeous!
