What are some ways I can help my little sister go to sleep?

She’s 10 years old, and she has been having problems with sleeping for 3 years. Every night she struggles to get in a room by herself. She’s terrified of everything. My room is right across from hers, and she still refuses to sleep in her room. She cries and screams and begs to sleep with me or my brother. And we’re sick of it. It’s been happening non stop for 3 years. We have tried everything humanly possible. We tried decorating her room to make it seem more comfortable. I rub her back everynight and sometimes I read her a book. We let her keep her light on and music on. Is there something i’m missing?

Answer #1

We have already brought her to the doctor about it, but nothing helped.

Answer #2

My friends little sister has the same problem, she’s 7 though. Two people should stay in her room & lay with her until she falls asleep, that’s what we do with her sister & it works atleast.

Answer #3

read a book to her

Answer #4

I’m sorry your sister is having such a hard time sleeping. It must be very stressfulk for your whole family. I use to have problems with an overactive imagination and eventual outgrew it. I also got a dog. Things aren’t so scary with a furry friend beside you! (Though now, I don’t sleep well cause my Pug snores and hogs the bed! LOL).

Answer #5

I wrote in the description that I do :P

Answer #6

Yeah I think it’s just her imagination. She’s got a lot going on there! :)

Answer #7

Sing her a song she likes?

I sing and play guitar to my neighbor’s daughter. I’ll make up a song of the top of my head about her, one that has her name in it A LOT, so that she loves it. :D

Answer #8

*off

Lay her on her belly, and rub her back, I hope this helps.

Answer #11
