They are ages 7 and 10 both girls
My 11 year old daughter already chose her model, which is KAKA, the football player. And my 9 yer old boy picked Julio Caesar, Brazil's goal keeper. They so much motivated by those people. So I down load some clips of those people having football practice, giving speech in any occasion when they are awarded, the way those people behave in the field and so on. The good side of having their old models is that they are motivated by the way their models achieve the best performance. The worrying side of having them is that those are also human being who may be making silly mistake :) I just tell my kids that, being the best is not as easy as clicking your fingers. Those people are in their present place after having lots of work and lots of pray. It works!!!
Sometimes you can find people, like from your work place, or from a club they are at or like the above mentioned, a church. Also it could be as simple as someone in school who you see is a high achiever and stuff. Just make sure that you don't try to complare them, don't say "look at him he does this and you should do this" My dad always did this, he always compared me, saying I should be like the kid from the place where he works, and it does not feel good, it only gave me another reason to not be like them. Just try to have them around this pearson more often, if not, then just try your best to do it yourself, they do listen even when they look like they are not.
Their other role models should be teachers at school. You could try by enrolling them in a sport that they like or an extra class like maybe a Saturday morning art class or something, hopefully their coach/teacher could turn into a role model for them. If you can't find a steady role model, you could do things like comment on a good citizen to your girls: eg: 'It was very good of that lady to put her rubbish in the bin' or 'That man was really nice to chase that boy's dog when it got off it's lead'. They will see you applauding good people, and they will look up to those strangers for a second as a role model. Seeing good people will make them want to do good things.
Take them to volunteer events/activities that they can be involved in, it'll widen their exposure to positive role models and will also plant the idea in their heads that the people at those events are in need of help, and will make it so that your children aren't as selfish when they know others are in a greater place of need then them.
