What would you do if you found out that your parents had gone through your emails?

and when u ask them why they did it, they say because they have right to know whats going on with you? i would like it much better if they just asked me what was up with me..id feel terrible and untrustworthy if i found out my parents had gone through my emails:/

Answer #1

Then I’d tell them look, if you want to know what is going on then just ask. Because now, you’ve lost my trust by going through my emails.

Answer #2

If they’re going through my emails I’d asume its because they don’t trust me which would make me pretty upset, and I would lose a lot of trust in them. If they told me they have a “right” to know, I’d tell them it would be better if they ask me instead of sneeking around. I’d gladly let them go through my emails with my permission.

Answer #3

i know right? its just really stupid and sad:/

Answer #4

I’d ask them why they felt the need to do it and why they couldn’t just come to you and ask as opposed to going behind your back. Also, password protect your emails for future times with a password that they would be very unlikely to guess

Answer #5

my parents went through all my stuff for no reason, they never trusted me. what i did was get my self in trouble so that they had a reason lmfao i do not suggest it. talk to them and tell them exactly what you wrote here.

Answer #6

Ask why they have done it and ask them if they trust me or not.

Answer #7

They are your parents. They have the right to look through your emails. They don’t just do it because they don’t trust you, it may be because they want to make sure your safe.

Answer #8

Discuss it with them..keep in mind doing their job (not easy) is to ensure you are protected, looking after your best interests until you become an adult..if they do that, you’ll be very glad looking back..they Cared enough..ask them why in a respectful manner

Answer #9

I would be kinda hurt just for the fact that my own parents don’t even trust me when I’ve given them no reason for them to not trust me. But for the actual “going through my emails” part, I wouldn’t care~ I have nothing to hide in them like some people.

Answer #10

You need to have a sit down talk with your parents and tell them straight out how you feel. You shouldn’t need to show them how you should be trusted. I can understand how parents can be curious but that gives them no right to go through your stuff unless they have a good reason or if it’s for your safety.

Answer #11
