I've been thinking of getting one of those $500-$700 above ground pools you set yourself but I don't know much about how much maintenance do they require.
So you're talking about those approx. 5 ft deep pools pools that you put up in your garden. You'll need to keep the water clean. So you need a circulation pump - best is to have it running permanently which will use power. And you need to remove all debris (leaves, swimming dust) that drops into your pool with a pool net. You will probably also need a chlorine additive.
And you'd better cover the pool whenever you don't use it to make sure that no animals or neighbors kids drown in it.
If you have an inflatable pool or the foil pool, you can simply empty it, clean it and move it to the basement in autumn and then re-install it next spring.
If you have the permanent pool, you will need to keep it clean and covered in wintertime.
I have one thats a lil above 700 hunderd dollars.. u'll need chlorine ..shock.. and many other chemical products for cleaning them..i use the cholrine tablets..just insert them in there despenser and they take from a 1 -2 weeks till they dissolve ..and the shock comes in 17 oz bags that u spray into the swimming pool within 15 minutes ur water turns into aqua blue:) mine pool turned green within 4 days after using shock it made it look like i drained the old water and filled it with new.. i upload a pic so u can see how mine looks like..any more questions, feel free to ask:)
