you need to bust open the phone book and call EVERY temp service in the employment section. if he might be interested in carpentry, construction, factories, etc, have him go to a day labor place like Labor Ready. It’s long hard hours for little pay, but that is where you meet people. He might have a month of min. wage, but if he gets hired on permanently, it’ll be worth it. My experience has been with most jobs, you have to know somebody. There are some trucking companies that will hire felons, so he could go get a CDL and start some training in that area. He needs to be networking with as many sympathetic people as possible. Get involved with a church organization and maybe join a 12 step program. A lot of people in anonymous programs understand when people make mistakes, and are eager to give second chances. This is all contingent on his attitude and willingness to work. He needs to project a clean cut image and show he is a respectful and dependable man. It sucks, but he will have to work ten times harder to get the same job, no matter what his skills may be.
