success or happiness

im not sure what to do, I recently recieved a job offer from the state making 10 grand more than I make right now. Its an awsome job, Good benefits, get to carry a gun, its a career choice. The job I have now is awsome too and im very happy with my life right now. I have no reason to grow up yet, no wife and kids to look after, I turn 21 in june so I still want to have fun for a couple more years. But if I decline the job I might not get another chance. If I take the job I get relocated and I’ll wind up about 3 hours from my currant house, which isn’t bad but I won’t know anyone. I can picture getting done work everyday and going to whatever apartment I have and just be alone all week. that would suck really bad, and its hard to make new friends when your not in school. But at the same time it might work out really good, so my question is, do you go for success or happiness

what ever makes you happy. its your dicision but money only makes people happy for a short whille its not long lasting but I cant make the descision for you. go with the flow which ever you think that you will benefit more from.

Answer #4

I would go for the happiness option every time.

I work to live, I don’t live to work.

The best bet is to write a list of good and bad for each job and see how it tallies up.

These sort of choices can be a real downer but at the end of the day, you are the only person who knows what you actually feel.

If you stayed where you were I would not see you as a failure, you would have weighed up both options and made that choice.

Dear piker187, So I wonder why you don’t think you can be happy with this new job? You will meet people at your new work, you may even meet miss right. You will have a good increase in wages and this would afford you to travel home (only 3 hours away) on days off and afford a nice updated apartment. You get to explore new surroundings and yes, afford that new blackberry to talk with friends. So I don’t see you giving up any happiness with this new challenge but see it as growing experience for you and a way to grow. You may look back and wonder what if…wouldn’t that make you sad. Sue…good luck
