How to stop panicking over my weight?

Lately over these past few months I’ve been cautious of my weight and as time passes, I’m starting to worry over it more and more. Ive researched symptoms of an eating disorder, and have met some of the symptoms listed, but I do not believe that I have an eating disorder. I check my weight at least twice a day, calculate my calorie intake, replace my meals with water and my weight Is always on my mind. Does anyone know any methods that can stop me from being so weight conscious and help make me look at myself in a normal way?

I would just try and get into the frame of mind that the scales don’t actually tell you anything important. They give you a number that doesn’t mean anything, because that number does not tell you anything about your body fat, muscle mass, bone weight, etc. Muscle weighs more than fat, so if the scales tell you that you weigh more than you would expect, it’s more than likely muscle weight. Also, how much you weigh does not tell people anything about your personality :) If you’re healthy, that’s all that should matter to you

If you don’t have one now, your on your way to having one, and that should worry you. Replacing meals with water?! That’s extremely unhealthy. Throw out the scale, start eating proper meals AT LEAST twice a day, you’re not gonna get fat from two meals. I eat 7 meals a day minimum with around 2500 calories a day and I’m still lean. I’m sure you could eat a few meals and not put on weight. And also try and remember, you’ll have more people talking negatively about you if youre super skinny as apposed to being a little over weight (which youre not) this is because there are more overweight people than healthy people. Super skinny is the minority. Stay healthy, eat better and stop worrying about your weight so much.

Sweetie, it seems that you may be developing unhealthy behavior. And you know it. You are not overweight. You don’t look overweight on any of your photos. You are beautiful as you are. If you cannot find a way to get rid of these thoughts by yourself, then you should try to find help. Talk to a doctor or a school counsellor. Ask you parents.

Go to the doctor and if he says you’re fine, you’re fine!! I’m on the same boat as you but the dic said I was actually under weight O.O so just eat what you need and if you feel bad after wards work you ass off in exersice. But keep eating

Sounds to me like you’re developing some form of Obesophobia, or the fear of weight gain.

There is nothing wrong with gaining weight, as it is usually minimal in a short period of time and is even temporary throughout the day. You should tell yourself that you look fine the way you are now and the way you will be in the future. A little weight gain (5-10lb.) is not very noticeable (unless it’s in a short time) and you shouldn’t be worrying too much about it.

Replacing nutrient rich foods with water and other “low” calorie items is NOT the healthy way of fighting this mindset. In fact, by doing that you’re making it worse because you are depriving your body of nutrients it needs to maintain it’s current state of function. In other words, eating less healthy and in general less food means you will slow down your metabolism and may even cause weight gain.

As far as muscle weighing more than fat, that is the biggest misconception that travels through the nutrition and fitness universe. You’re telling me ONE pound of fat and one ONE pound of muscle are NOT the same? Or that if I had 1kg of feathers and 1kg of bricks, that the bricks are heavier? How on Earth is that even possible? The truth in that is, the SURFACE AREA of the two is different. Muscle is, as I explained in another answer, a build up of myocites or very tight connective tissue while body fat is made up of adipocytes or connective tissue that is very loose. Muscle therefore covers a smaller AREA on the body while weighing the same as fat.

You could pretty much eat one meal a day and still grow/lose fat/maintain your weight as long as you reach the calorie goals for that day. Eating 7 meals (I used to eat 8-10 a day) a day consistently is only good if you can make time for each sitting and as I stated before, it makes no difference whether you eat one a day or 10 a day. I eat 2 times a day because of my work hours and am still producing the same gains I was making when I wasn’t working. Not 1UPing, just sayin’ what I know from studies. :)
