How could I start my new poem I'm writing for my girlfriend?

I think a good way to start with Romantic poetry is first by finding a song that enhances the mood you want the poem to express. The music not only helps you identify the mood but also to ease your mind as well making it easier to focus. There’s this one song that I thoroughly enjoy listening to help me calm my thoughts and it’s called “La Linea Scura” By Ludovico Einaudi; it’s worth listening to.

After that, you want to imagine a scenery, something that both of you can relate to. Once you have that, the rest is pretty much the easiest part, describing what is going on in this scenery of yours. I’ll give you a quick example of something I got off the top of my head while listening to the song I mentioned early.

The leaves bled maroon colors with each of my steps, They bent in odd shapes, crackling under my feet

I was lost, confused, with all this death surrounding my soul I was withheld from your light, and with that, nothing is and ever shall be again Until you grace me once more

I like poems too. You can try this: use every letter of her name as a start of every line. So she can read her name down. I believe she’s gonna like it :)

Write down your thoughts as they come, listening to music, watching clouds, just thinking. Then go back and look at all you’ve written and reorganize it to make it more coherent. In other words, write everything down that comes into your head. Then go back and reorganize and edit it into beautiful sentences
