Start my own advice column?

Sure…however, consider the following:

1. If you start a column, do you know how to market it? People dont’ show up on a website by accident, advertising is expensive.
2. What happens when somebody spams you? It will happen, I know from experience
3. If your site (or column) doesn’t provide a “unique value” then, people will not use it…eg, there are tons of question & answer sites…ours, for example, is the only one that allows customizable profiles :) So, what unique value would yours have?

If you decide you have to do it, go for it…however, you should probably start by learning how sites like this work, or other advice columns, etc,…for example, e jean carrolle, a famous advice columnist for some magazine, is a TON less successful than our site…and, they have the backing of years in the business & the magazine to help get them exposure.

Of course, if you’re doing it for fun & are OK with nobody showing up, that’s a whole nother issue.

If you know any HTML and CSS and know how to properly work an FTP transfer program, I will give you some free web space to start out on.

If not…time to learn. Tons of resources out there for learning HTML and CSS. And once you master those…pick up a server side language like PHP.
