I use to sell appliances. We always reccomended “stainless steel magic” tp our customers. It is available at lowes and walmart. It comes in a spray bottle. Follow the directions carefu;;y and it works great!

Answer #2

I would not put anything except for stainless steet products onto your fridge without cdalling the company who made the fridge. I run a cleaning business and we only ever use the stainless steel spray. It foams when it goes on and you polish it off. I will have a look around and see what info I can find for .Mel

OMG I have the same problem, I was just cleaning the front of my stainless steel fridge awhile ago, and once again bugged by it, where the ice and water come out at, it has left a permanent stain from the water leaking down the black plastic part, the tray is removeable, but what can we soak it in? I actually wondered if like “mean green” or “lime away” would work…I will be checking back here for answers. Good luck to us LOL

I think white vinegar is the answer. It breaks up the calcium in the water. Just not sure how you’d soak it in that if its a vertical surface.

I too was peeved about the ice and water dispenser leaving a big long drip down the door. I use Cerma Bryte stainless steel cleaner (has mineral oil) to polish and shine but it didn’t do anything for the water drip. I tried vinegar, lemon juice and nothing. Finally, I got out my trusted friend Bon Ami. It said “no scratching” so I tried it with a damp sponge and VOILA, the water drip was no more and no scratching on my brushed stainless steel! I followed up with the cerma bryte to polish and shine.

You can try using vinegar to get rid of the water stains. Pour some white vinegar in a spray bottle and spray the vinegar directly onto the areas with the water stains.

Let it sit for about a minute and then wipe away using a dry cloth. You may have to scrub a bit at some of the tougher stains.

You can also try using the juice from a lemon.

Lastly, you can try a mixture of water and baking soda. Use enough water to create a thick paste. Apply the paste to the water spots and let sit for approximately 10 minutes. Use a damp washcloth to wipe the paste away. Use a dry cloth to buff up the area.
