I share Pinkpearl's concerns. I think that most young men and women join the service for noble reasons but I no longer trust our institutions to protect and honor them like they should. Look at the lies used to trick Americans into supporting the invasion and occupation of Iraq. During the jingoistic frenzy following 9/11 most politicians were afraid to question anything during the buildup to war lest they appear un-American. Most of our media refused to even report news that cast doubt on the reasons given for war because of the fear of appearing to be against against a popular war. The problem is we do not have any brakes when it comes to those who are rushing us into wars. Bush 43 killed more Americans by starting an unjustified war against Iraq than Bin Laden killed during 9/11. While Bin Laden faced the business end of American riffles, George W Bush will never be tried for war crimes. We spent $millions investigating President Clinton's sex life but it is just too much effort to look into the legality of Bush 43's war in Iraq.
Which soldiers do you mean, Angel? Those who r@pe and pillage as the spoils of war? Those who die to protect their comrades? Those who have done both? Our side? Their side? The aggressors? The defenders? Those who were drafted? Who volunteered? Those who bomb whole cities into oblivion, or who sit in California playing real "war games" sending drones to bomb wedding parties and other unseen targets in far-off lands? Those who do it for country (ours or theirs), for ideology (ours or theirs), for the friend fighting next to them, for a lie, for a whole system of lies that they've been brought up to believe? Those who must obey orders to kill the innocent or risk imprisonment or execution? Those who boast of their exploits? Who sell their services to the highest bidder? Those who weep at night over what they have seen, and done?
Who can judge?

Yes, because the people they killed were enemies. Yes, because god forgives them. Yes, but only if they kill people of a different faith. Yes, but only if they kill other soldiers, not if they accidentally kill civilians. Not if they had photos from the last issue of playboy in their locker. No, because they killed people. No, because they polluted the environment with their tank engines. No, because there is no heaven.
You really can't answer that question. Everybody has a different faith, if they have a faith at all. Some do have a heaven, some don't. How could we possibly know?
Killing while serving one's country during war is not a sin unless the soldier uses it as an excuse to intentionally kill a non combative person or civilian. Then it is murder. However this has happened in the past with soldiers who were under extreme stress and trama and where basically out of their mind at the time and feel tremendous guilt and regret over it now. As long as they ask God for forgiveness and repent they will be ok
Nearly every soldier believes God is on his side and that killing the enemy is a way to serve God. Hitler himself thought he was serving his lord by ridding the world of Jews. If you look to the OT even the good guys committed what we would consider atrocities. If you wish to rationalize wartime killing it isn't hard to do so using the Bible.
It has to do more with the intent than the deed. If they kill accidentally, there is no sin, if they kill in defense of themselves, there is no sin, if they kill to protect others, there is not sin. If they kill without cause, they must answer to God and he will be their judge, not us.
But for a life lost a bunch are saved. Depending on the cause of war. I think its nobal. To save our country even if it means war. There r innocent people everywhere that dont deserve to die. But if nothin was done then it qoukd be our innocent people.
Well i guess the only nibal part is saving the country ur fighting for...killing shouldnt be the answer. But it talks about war in the bible. Its how things have to happen. Us fighting the nazi's woukd u consider that nobal?
and if iit means protecting our home then its nobal to me. There r innocent people. Good people. But thats everywhere. All u can do is protect your own. No matter what thats nobal. Saving innocent lives
There is no possible way of knowing what happens after a soldier dies, I myself am in the United States Airforce, and have to say this. No cause is noble if a life is lost because of it. end of story.
What if they accidentally killed some "colatteral damage" innocent people, while bombing al Quaida out of a hideout in an Afghan mountain village, employing a remote control robot drone?
Tell him not to. Soldiers are just chess pieces for our governments and corporations. They are told it's for noble causes but it isn't.
i think so because they are killing bad people who want to kill others they still deserve to go to heaven:)
