Ever notice that? Like when Natasha Bedingfield or Adele or Leona Lewis sings? Weird.
I agree with Joanne as far as Lily Allen is concerned, if anything she accentuates her 'British' accent, almost in a faux-cockney way. Personally I don't care for Adele's music too, but I don't hear an American twang in there, to me she sounds English. As for Leona Lewis, good singer I suppose, but awful, awful music, she's obviously heavily influenced by American singers like Witney Houston and Mariah Carey who have that hugely irritating singing style where have to show off their full vocal range by hitting several notes in a single bloody word, very over the top. I guess she's the one, if I didn't already know she's English, I would say was American.
It's not something that exclusive to Brits sounding like Americans, take Greenday for example, Billie Joe Armstrong is practically doing and impersonation of Joe Strummer from The Clash.
I've noticed that I just can't figure it out why songs are sung that way. I dunno, maybe it's the other way around and the American accent just kind of caught on with the way people sing songs but it is very fascinating.
Yesss I've Always Wondered , I've Also Seen Actresses In Their Movie Who Talk With An American Accent But When They're Getting Interviewed They Have This Different Accent I'm Like What O.o
lol...I have always wondered the same thing. Same thing with some country singers :)
That's so weird. But if you listen to Ellie Goulding, you can hear her accent
I wanna hear someone sing in an English accent. Hilarious to think of it!!!
Lili allen soumds nothing like an American when she sings :/ nor Adele
With a British accent they will sound like a mary poppins movie!!!
Rude and patronising actually because i read it wrong
thats the beauty of music;)
