Should I send a picture of myself to a girl across the world?
I know this chick that lives in Egypt and we met through deviantart. We been emailing each other since June and today she asked me for my picture and if I sent it she would send me one of her. I’m wary of doing stuff like that because what if she’s actually a 70 year old dude in Michigan or something? But her problems and what she tells me sound really 16 year old like. I offered to sen a chibi drawing of myself but she hasn’t replied. Helpz?
Yeah. Honestly you should if you like her or it’s friendly or whatever. She could be telling the truth and a beautiful friendship could bloom and the first step to trust is the pic maybe. If you’re not comfortable… Voice your concern.
Don’t send one if you feel like you’ll regret doing so at any point. Otherwise, it’s up to you. I imagine that after 4 months of talking, you guys probably have a good feel for each other’s personality; however, if you’re seriously questioning her age and gender, then maybe you should just continue talking and getting to know her until you feel comfortable sending a picture. A regular, ordinary picture of yourself really isn’t that big of a deal, though.

Send it if and when you don’t find it necessary to question doing so.
