if somebody rob a bank and say that he is crazy he will get away with that?

Like in those cases where the killer kill a lot of people and say is that crazy that will apply if somebody rob a bank or not. What do you think?

Answer #1

I dont really think so because when it comes to money the law protects it :/

Answer #2

Weirder things have happened

Answer #3

So money its more important than life for them. that is so sad.

Answer #4

It would really depend on the details, but if it was proven he was legal “insane” I think said person would probably get time in high security psych ward as opposed to jail time. From my understanding that’s what usually happens in a case where the crime was not necessarily deliberate, but cause by a psychiatric condition. That way they can get help for their mental illness. For example say said bank robber has a very severe case of kleptomania, and could not control it.

Answer #5

it is rather difficult to possibly ‘fake’ insanity in this day and age. psychiatrists are fully aware of the signs of someone trying to fake a mental condition so there are only two ways to do this- either be certifiably crazy or to be a rather good actor and know what they are looking for to be able to convince one or more psychiatrists that you are nuts. it would be very hard to do- but not impossible. that being said - sure insanity can protect you from most crimes- but you get to spend your prison time with people who are truly sick which to most of us who are sane would be punishment in itself to have to deal with psych patients every day from within their group.
